Q: With such a choice, why would I choose you to photograph my wedding?

One of the simplest questions and one which most photographers dread! – Every photographer is different, they have different styles, different personalities and look to get different things from their work. When you look at any photographers work, you should see what they see or don’t see, what they pay or don’t pay attention to. Does the work look like what you’d like? Can you imagine yourself in the photographs? By asking these questions, you can quickly decide if the photographer is worth booking a visit with. As a photographer, I am a service provider. My aim is to develop a professional reputation built on trust and reliability. I am looking for your referral to your friends and family. Everything I do is done with this in mind. My style is relaxed but I deliver. I work by contract so we both know the expectations and then, I aim to exceed your expectations. I hope I have answered that one for you?

Q: Can we meet you to discuss our requirements before we book you?

Yes of course. Liz and I are very happy to meet prospective clients for an informal, no-obligation chat. We can look at some sample wedding albums and discuss your actual needs & requirements. No pressure sales either! Promise!

Q: Are there any other costs that we need to know about?

The price that we agree on the day is the total cost of your selected package. There are no hidden extras. Obviously, in time (depending on your package) if you wanted to have an album to compliment your photos then obviously that will be an additional cost to you. If additional travel expenses or entry into a ‘private park’ or ‘manor house’ for example, then this will be mentioned at the time and incorporated into the total cost. We want to be completely transparent when it comes to costs.

Q: How far is Highlights Photography willing to travel?

Each Photographic Collection or Package includes travel within Bristol, Somerset, The Cotswolds, Gloucestershire and Wiltshire. Naturally, should your venue be outside this area, “Highlights Photography” in addition, may charge a small amount for travel costs. If its a venue that we have never visited before then it is likely we will add a charge for fuel costs (from the above boundaries) to carry out a pre-visit of your ceremony location.

Q: How do I book Highlights Photography?

No doubt we will have spoken already or visited you, but once you have decided to use Highlights Photography, to provisionally reserve your date, please either email or phone us. To secure your date, simply send us your completed and signed booking form together with a deposit. That’s it, your day is secured!

Q: Can I pay you the full amount using PayPal?

We are happy to receive your deposit either by internet banking, cheque, cash or PayPal using the PayPal button on our wedding booking page. When the time has arrived to pay the outstanding balance our preferred method is via online banking or cheque. Should you wish to pay this again via PayPal, please contact us as there will be an additional fee for using this service.

Q: I have some photographic ideas in mind, are you able to take similar photographs?

No problem at all, if you see images say.. in bridal magazines that you like, bring them along to the pre-wedding meeting and I’ll do my best to reproduce them on the day for you.

Q: How long will you stay with us at our wedding?

Obviously it depends on the wedding collection you have chosen. The Gold Collection includes our attendance right up to and including your first dance. It doesn’t matter if this is one or a few hours from the end of your wedding breakfast. Also, if you are preparing early in the morning then we can be there too!

Q: What if it’s raining on the day?

Before the day of the ceremony, I will check out the venue for your wedding and always look for areas undercover where I can do any formal shots required. As I am a professional photographer, I have the confidence and ability to shoot in all weather conditions and light scenarios. I have yet to shoot a wedding where it has rained ALL day. You can normally work round the weather in some way or another. Obviously, I will also ask yourselves if you have a wet weather plan you would prefer.

Q: We have been given a wedding album as a present, are we obligated to purchase one from you as well?

Not at all. Wedding albums from me are optional extras, so there is no pressure.  I’m quite happy for you to buy prints or the high-resolution digital images so you can make up your own album.

Q: How long do you keep our images for?

Currently I never delete your images, they are stored carefully and indefinitely.

Q: How long does it take to see our pictures after the wedding?

It usually takes around four weeks to carefully digitally enhance each of your images, depending on your package. Once complete, we will contact you to make arrangements to personally deliver them to you if appropriate. I will also upload your images to the ‘Clients Area’ on my web site for you to access. However, I will tease you with some highlights via email during this time!

Q: If I order a wedding album, how long will it take to arrive?

From sending the request off to the factory, it can take anything from 4-6 weeks to arrive back from Italy. Depending on the album it can be a little longer but the wait will be worth it!

Q: Is VAT included in your prices?

I am not required to be VAT registered and so therefore the price you see is the full correct price.

Q: Do you photograph same-sex couples weddings?

Of course we would be delighted to photograph your wedding like any other. Legislation to allow same-sex marriage in England and Wales was passed by the Parliament of the United Kingdom in July 2013 and came into force on 13 March 2014. The first same-sex marriages took place on 29 March 2014. So, feel free to contact us!

Q: I have another question?

That’s not a problem, email me here and I will get back to you asap!
