Wedding Photographer Check List
It’s that time again where the Summer wedding season comes to a close, so I thought this would be a timely period to post a short Blog about booking your wedding photographer.
Choosing your wedding photographer can be extremely daunting. You will have a ton of questions no doubt, such as;
- Who do you choose?
- Where do you find the best?
- How much should I pay?
- Are they insured?
- What if they get sick on the day?
- Do I like their wedding photography style?
- Do I need to sign a contract?
- What if I don’t like the photographer?
- and on and on and on…
Firstly, after doing your research, it pays to choose a wedding photographer really early and I am suggesting a year or more. From experience we have turned down so many potential clients because we are already booked. It’s always heart breaking to turn people away and disappoint really lovely customers.
Secondly, do your research. Word of mouth is always the best one. Speak to other bride and grooms, who did they use at their wedding? Check out photographers testimonials. Do they have a portfolio? Face Book page? Collect as much information as possible.
Thirdly, the photographers you have found, are they right for you? Do they have the style of photography you like? You are inviting them into your special day, so you both must be right for each other. Photographers should be relaxed and fun to be with. There needs to be some chemistry between you, as that always gives the best images. After all, on your wedding day you want to have fun! Yes? and potentially you will be in their company for most of the day, depending what wedding photography package you choose.
Well here is a great little visual wedding photographer info-graphic that I found, courtesy of 247Photographers.co.uk which might just help you out on some of the questions. Click on the ‘choosing your wedding photographer’ image and download it to your computer, tablet or phone for reference.
